SME and Branding
        SME in developing countries is playing more important role for the growth of economy. As SME’s are smaller as compare to large size enterprises also face many hurdles, difficulties and problems in the developing countries. Brand management is one of the problems for SME due to some reasons which are explained in detail.
  1. Price control: - Brand name is the obligation of owner which obtain from PTO (Patent Trademark Offices). The registration of Brand is also financial and complicated step due to brand name should be identical, distinguish and represents the business name and awareness. Price for brand control and management is highly expensive and costly for maintain position in the market. So price of brand is a logical argument for SME.
  2. Lack of budget:- Most of the SME’s perform functions for large enterprises and creates spare and parts for promotion and demand of the large enterprises. Budget is the financial backbone of every business. Lack of computer software or labeling lead to lose capital budgeting and strategic making. Lack of budget may effect on management, decision, material and investment.
  3. Lack of ideas:- Ideas is the first step in entrepreneurial which cater  the new product, business and visions to start or deployment of opportunities. SME’s in Pakistan for new product brand do not have education, knowledge and knowhow. Most SME spent to much expenses on advertisement but do not control on brand management. And less knowledge of brand different types. SME’s in Pakistan do not hire professional for ideas and feasibilities of their business. So lack of ideas is also logical argument for failure of brand name, labeling and packaging.
  4. Lack of inventor department:- New product development is new era in 21st centuries. SME’s in Pakistan do not have inventor department and entrepreneurial sections. For brand extension, homogeneous or new brand development is key to growths and promotions in any business. But the lack of inventors department leads to destroy the market images and scopes. This shows lack of resources, finance and product differentiation, research and development.
  5. No competitions in market:- Due to lack of product brand, labeling and packaging, There is no competition in market. There is no chance to predict accurate financial budget and production capacity. Lack of brand name , packaging and labeling can not achieve customers confidence and behavior. Lack of customer awareness leads to lose of business and low sale in market. There will be weaknesses and threats in business, no strength and no opportunities in business for further run.
  6. Lack of institutions:- SME’s in Pakistan is very slowing growth economy and traditions. Lack of education institutions lead to low productivity and brand strategies. Lack of institutions leads to lack of policy, rules and structure of businesses. Lack of designing, material and technology is the logical argument which hurdles for (brand name, labels and packaging) reputations and achievements. Lack of institutions may be financial institutions which do not guide whole documentation, law and procedure. Lack for institutions lead to lose in attained good brand name and image.
